Enock Godi, the President of Hope Performance Tennis, was awarded for supporting tennis in Ghana
Hope Performance Tennis is a nonprofit organization that uses tennis to empower young and deserving people to make a better future. It was started in 2018 with the goal of tennis advancement in Ghana. The organization introduced tennis clinics for kids, which have expanded to five regions. It organized tournaments for children and distributed expensive rackets, balls, and shoes to children with a flair for tennis. Hope Performance Tennis aims to dissolve the barriers that impede the ability of young people to reach the maximum potential they can have and experience. The nonprofit expects to develop rising stars in the sports industry by providing them with maximum opportunities.
In October 2022, Enock Godi, the founding president of Hope Performance Tennis, was awarded at the Annual General Meeting of Confederation of African Tennis for his leadership and service to Ghana Tennis. Enock dedicated this award to all of those who supported the cause and value of Hope Performance Tennis Foundation. People like David Haggerty, President of the International Tennis Federation, and Tarak Cherif, President of the Confederation of African Tennis, also joined the meeting and conversed with Mr. Enock Godi about the challenges that needed to be addressed to support tennis in Ghana.
Enock Godi claims that “there is so much potential for tennis in Ghana, and it could yield renowned names in the upcoming years.” He added that he would love to see “someday kids trained in tennis clinics at Hope Performance Tennis will be playing big grand slams like Wimbledon.” Hope continues to bring competitiveness and ranking to the sport for youth with natural talent. The organization sponsors students who are not in the ITF ranking without discrimination.
Hope has the vision to be a viable nonprofit tennis organization that would provide the youth of Ghana and the sub-region with a platform on which they could combine tennis performance and academic excellence for their own development.
The official website of Hope Performance Tennis provides all the recent and future ventures and how one could contribute to the noble cause of supporting tennis in Ghana.
