Let Us Change the World Today a Declaration by H.E Sir Patrick Bijou UN Ambassador and Sovereign Judge of the ICJ-ICC

“Today’s world has changed drastically since you and I were children. The simplicity of childhood has given way to the complications of adulthood, and there are new challenges everywhere we look. As leaders, we can make a difference in our world, and we must look at those challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. Not only will this enable us to become much more successful in every aspect of our lives, but it will also give way to future generations who will one day take our place and effect changes in their world. Through imagination, creativity, and resilience, we can all make the world a much better place to live for everyone”. – Sir Patrick Bijou

It is easy to take the foundations of a building for granted or the pillars holding up the roof over your head. Just as pillars hold grand edifices, unseen columns have the foundations of reality that we take for granted.

Some may not appreciate those unseen pillars as gold and treasure, yet these are the structures that make our world possible. Pillars such as Truth, Justice, Mercy, Compassion, and Charity are foundational structures holding up our reality, and without them, everything we take for granted would collapse.

Righteous men and women hold up these pillars of reality, and one such man is His Excellency Sir Patrick Bijou, a self-made billionaire who has achieved a level of success only dreamed about by most. The word “authority” comes from the word author. As an investment banker, His Excellency is a world authority on banking and finance; to be precise, he has written about a dozen books on the subject and is highly sought after by top investors worldwide.

Sir Patrick is a sought-after Hedge Fund Manager and award-winning international banker. He is the inventor of the economic phenomenon of Contract for Difference (CFD), a genuinely pioneering concept that today’s banks and trading institutions now adopt. CFD has changed how trading is applied across capital markets using clever leverage and notional funding ratios. Sir Patrick did not just create concepts but has also authored books and journals about CFD, offering his valuable takeaways on becoming wealthy by executing his asset and wealth creation strategies. He was finally awarded the most prestigious awards from the Valley of the Stars Award, and Circle of Stars Award from Wells Fargo for his outstanding banking services.

Born in Georgetown, Guyana, South America, he is a full-hearted philanthropist. He has over three decades of experience in the financial markets and has worked with an assortment of clients, including governments, banking institutions, and corporations alike.

From his humble beginnings at Wells Fargo, he has since served as a Fund Manager and an outstanding bond, futures, and derivatives trader on the trading floors of Wall Street. He was the principal designer of the MTN & Private Placement desk and dealer function at Lloyds Bank Plc and was the first trader for Lloyd’s treasury, where he appreciably increased the portion of self-led deals from 4% to 32% in 2002.

He is a sought-after wealth manager owing to his Private Placement trading platform at his trade desks at Credit Suisse and DBS Bank. He is a Global Ambassador for the International Rights and Welfare Association (IRAWA) and Ambassador of the Royal Diplomatic Club. The Universal Global Peace USA Academy appointed him as a governing board member and awarded him The Human Excellency Award. Being the President of the International Banking Relations of Commonwealth Entrepreneurs Club and on the board of trustees of NGOs and IGOs speaks volumes about his virtuosity in banking and social benevolence. As in a family, Sir Patrick believes there is no peace unless everyone is treated fairly. He understands that the same is true for nations, subnational regions, and tribes.

In 2018, His Excellency was knighted by the Knights of Malta for his services to global banking and charitable works. He is a Senior Sovereign Judge of the ICJ/ICC, Ambassador Diplomat for the World Peace Tracts and Fund Manager for Empire Capital Fund Inc.

His mission is to leave the world in a better place than he found it by creating alternative funding sources for worthwhile projects that will create jobs, benefit the environment and build/rebuild infrastructure in nations worldwide by applying leadership, beneficial working relationships, and 110% effort to project development.

His Excellency constantly seeks the best-qualified individuals to support him as part of his focus on client service. As he explains., “I look for intelligent people, willing to learn, not egotistical or obstinate, understand that opportunities come about often to very few for different reasons, and can absorb and communicate the facts. I look for great personalities coupled with a high degree of intelligence. I stay away from people who insist they know better or have some degree of expertise that may not be related to my business. Ultimately, people do business with people they like”.

His Excellency works tirelessly with the World Peace Tracts to end the silent genocide in Nigeria. He also works with the Pan African People’s alliance to bring about the hope of African Unification, bringing him back to his African roots, which he holds proudly.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD

The world has become increasingly overpopulated, and we are using our natural resources at an unprecedented pace. The pandemic, conflicts, economic recession, and natural disasters profoundly affect our society, especially that of the Russian evasion of Ukraine. Fortunately, each can contribute to making our world better by making small changes. What we do individually may have negligible impacts, but we can change the world for the better.

With that in mind, Sir Patrick shares some of his favourite ways that we can change the world today:

Respect Others – distrust between groups of people can quickly form due to a lack of respect. Regardless of skin colour, religion, and ethnicity, we must respect the rights of those around us.

Being authentic in life is a highly valued personality trait, responsible for making someone likeable or someone we can rely upon. It also makes us more accountable leaders, and this, in itself, can help us make a difference in our world. By focusing on being more authentic in our personal and professional lives, we can become the embodiment of authenticity and become better people overall.

Be Grateful – Gratitude can do wonders for our mental health and personal satisfaction. Grateful people are happier and more content with what they have, which means we will buy and consume less.

Be The Change – I firmly believe that, to change the world, we must change ourselves first. We must change the habits that make us human, our practices, actions, and ways of thinking.

Live By Your Core Values – Every one of us has a set of core values instilled in us throughout our childhood. As adults, we can either choose to expand on these values, create new ones, or forget them altogether. Each path will have its repercussions on ourselves and the world around us. By choosing the way of righteousness and living by our core values, we can instil those values in the people around us. It is essential to examine universal human values as well. There is a lot we can learn from them.

My entire career has been fighting to make universal values a practical reality for as many people as possible. Humanity is more robust than yesterday, but peace and universal values are not a permanent state of being. Contrary to that belief, I have been aware during my entire life that peace and universal values are an objective toward which we should strive continually. We can improve our lives only through unremitting effort and love. Regarding Heraclites, the only way we can achieve peace and change the world is through continual personal change. Peace and universal values are vital because we create a better world to live in through them.

Make A Stand – whether you stand for world peace, an end to hunger, a social awakening, or a healing of our planet, you must make a stand. Don’t just talk about it; go out and live it. In doing so, you will soon find that you are making a difference and changing the world for the better each and every day.

Get Involved in Local Communities – The pandemic has caused many problems in our communities. Households that lose primary sources of income and solitary older people may need your help. If we all work together toward a common goal, we can strengthen our communities, leading to a more peaceful, happy, and robust world.

Conserve Energy – We need to unplug and turn off when not using water and electricity. Conserving energy means that we are also conserving our natural resources, leading to sustainability and a healthier planet for us and future generations.

There are many ways that each and every one of us can change the world we live in. It just takes the desire to make a difference, empathy to put yourself in someone else’s place, and compassion towards your fellow man. The world can become a better place for everyone with these core values and attributes.

Finally, join me on my mission to bring about an ordered and sustainable world for the next generation where governments have failed us. Join me and walk the path leading to a better, happier, and prosperous world for us all. Leave this world with your legacy that you have contributed something, no matter how little, in helping to preserve our beautiful planet.

Think about your children and your children, children, before it’s just too late.

I hope you will join and march with me!
